RV Direct vrs RV One

In 2008 I purchased a new travel trailer from RV Direct. I am beginning the shopping process again and I notice another internet seller called RV One. Does anyone know if they the same company? They both seem to reference the same dealerships in Buffalo, Albany, Des Moines, and two in Florida.
Thanks!

  • Years ago, before Albany RV got so big and evolved into RV Direct and RV One, I bought my Class C from them. They were great. Good price and good service. IMHO, if one of their stores has bad service and the Strollos know about it, they will change it.

Of course, I could be wrong??? Hope not.
  • I agree, Bob. When we bought our motorhome from Tampa RV (where Bates used to be) I really didn't care. The few issues we had with the motorhome we got taken care of at the factory when we were up near there this summer. Then we KNEW we got it fixed right!!!

  • My experience has been when the sales price is extremely good they sell a lot of units and the service department can't keep up with service demands.....
  • If you have difficulty with service, try contacting the manufacturer. They will have a customer service specialist that will suggest a dealership near you for service. The travel trailer I ordered and purchased online in 2008 ended up having several issues. I live in Western Canada and picked up my trailer in Elkhart. The dealership RV Direct put the sale through (Albany RV)is two thousand miles away. I contacted Keystone and they authorized repairs on two separate occasions to be done at two different local dealerships. The 2nd wasn't even a Keystone dealer! I know someone who bought a Prowler locally and couldn't get any repairs done under warranty since both the dealership AND the manufacturer went out of business. Apparently the warranty service you receive depends more upon the manufacturer than the dealer. So, if the unit you got from Tampa RV is under warranty, contact your manufacturer for options other than the dealer you bought from for warranty repairs. Worked for me!
  • About 6 months ago we purchased a new motorhome from Tampa RV which I believe is one of the RV One stores. The sales process was fine, price was good, but don't go there if you want to get service. Granted the location was brand new and they admitted that their service left a lot to be desired, but I found the Service Manager there to have a very bad attitude. If he stays there, I question if they will ever have a good and reliable service department.

  • Welcome to the forums! Yes, it appears so. Both the president of RVDirect.com and RVOne.com is listed as Don Strollo on their websites.
