A longer escape window makes it easier to come out feet first. Everyone needs to open the escape windows every couple years as the can get hard to open BUT some are not hinged so make sure you do not drop it.
If all you have is the cheap 2 BC fire extinguishers that come in RVs... good luck if you ever have a fire.
