Setting the standard does not mean it can be done. Lisa Jackson will be gone soon anyway. As average mpg goes up, weight and safety goes down. How many cars actually meet this standard? Almost none. What will happen is when you buy a real car, you will have to buy a little puddle jumper as a spare to keep the average mpg up. Americans should be free to buy whatever car they wish. This is still America. If people want a Hybrid, that is great. I have no problem with that. I wish them well. I just don't think they have the right to tell others they must buy.
We use more than both of them and we get a lot of the refined product from that plant.
The USA only uses about 20% of the global supply so most of the cost will fall on big buyers like China and India.
