Two years ago, enthusiasm for EV's was over the top high. Now it's swung the other way to extreme pessimism. The reality is of course somewhere in the middle. It is a viable alternative that will slowly gain a share of the market.
The bigger shame right now is how Nissan is handling it's loss of capacity problem on their Leaf's. Talk about killing potential sales, as well as destroying resale value! Basically blaming the end users for abuse instead of helping them out with a solution. If I were in the market for a Leaf right now, I'd be waiting for the next gen batteries to come out (supposed to be next year, cheaper and more range). How are they going to sell the inventory they have right now? :?
I have now driven 10k EV miles in the last year, it did not replace all my gas usage, but certainly decreased my need for gasoline. Seems like you'd be happy about that, more gas for you! :h
It's not my fault (or desire) that the govmt wastes so much money on it. Black eye for the industry for sure. But hey, my tax money pays for a whole lot of things I disagree with. At least I get some benefit from this one. :B
