SRT, "Sure seems kinda strange that 4 years ago it took oil prices of $150 a barrel to be at $4.xx+ for gasoline. Now gasoline has been near $4.00 and oil was in the $9x.xx range. Even with Ben printing $$ like crazy dollar inflation didn't increase all that much."
I said that months ago in this thread. We're being robbed blind. My theory involves the influence of today's politics on the industry. Prediction: prices begin to fall THIS year if POTUS changes in a couple weeks, before any increased permitting, etc.
Interesting interview this a.m. on Fox with former Shell CEO John Hofmeister. (OH! I think I can hear the groaning already!)
Tomman: "I was told by a Costco manager (when I complained that their price was high and it was lower at another Costco location) that they base their prices on gas stations in a 5 mile radius of the store."
I was given similar info when I asked about their relatively high prices in Scottsdale last year.
