You forgot the free air that the power companies use to generate the electricity to fuel up the electric cars when the burn fossil fuels. Just exchanging the smoke stack for the tail pipe and losing a lot of efficiency in-between.
I understand even a coal fired plant distributing electric to a vehicle will have lower emissions and higher efficiency than an equivelent gasoline powered vehicle. And it goes up from there as not all power comes from coal.
