Actually Apple wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the government. Microsoft loaned/gave/invested in Apple when they were about to go under to avoid even more anti-trust investigation. Without the pressure from the anti-trust lawsuits and government investigation Apple wouldn't be in business today.

The iPhone and iPod are better products, but then they had no competition at the time. There wasn't anything to choose between.
