Very interesting.
Regarding the Volt as a toad option it has 3 different modes to drive the car, normal, sport and mountain. I've never tried the mountain mode as we don't have any in Michigan to speak of. Bottom line they would do well in any national park I've been to.
As for the rant about being ribbed or somehow demeaning for driving an EV is plain silly and ignorant as to what these things are. I think coming into the CG (as we do several times ) late at night would be a friendlier experience for our fellows in an EV as they are really quite as opposed to our diesel!
One of the EVs can recharge in 1 hour and then go another 180 miles. Charging stations are being built in Cal at those intervals. My car takes 3 to 3 1/2 hours to recharge. Fact not dreaming.
