The source of propane is refining crude oil. Natural gas comes out of the earth as natural gas. The price of propane is directly related to the price of crude oil. Natural gas is not. Comparing Natural Gas to Propane is like comparing firewood to propane on a BTU basis.
Propane has roughly 2500 BTUs per SCF while NH has 1000 BTUs.
