Why is every government afraid to raise the fuel tax? Very simple that bigger heavy vehicles pay more along with more miles pays more :R
Cars are becoming more and more efficient and we are slowly but surely going to electric and other hybrids that need little or no gas. So putting a tax on fuel isn't as lucrative as before.
you are right thought as the big trucks are the main problem for keeping roads in shape.
