While it is true as the price of gas increases there is a negative impact. Job losses are on the increase locally and the new round of laid off folks got a letter stating the president decided to cut unemployment benefits by 10.7%.
With that being said I expect we have more of an over spending issue than an energy plan issue. This means as gas prices increase the pain is greater.
