In college, I worked at an all night gas station and we got down to 19.9 once. I think he was just fighting with the guy across the street. Lots of people just got a dollar's worth. Still cleaned the windshield, checked the oil and battery. I got a whopping $1/hour, but could study between customers, and got to keep all of the tire repair work which was a lot as flats were very common back them.
:)That's what I made working at the gas station while in high school,
1 hr work would buy 5 gallons of gasoline ,
That's what most of the sales were at the station , a dollar of regular,
I fixed the flats, but got o% of it -- one dollar , one hour :)
