Let me take one last thrust at this windmill. "Tax Expenditures amount to $1.2trillion."
Once again, and this is not a difficult concept to grasp: Allowing people/companies to keep their hard earned money is not a subsidy/handout/tax expenditure/graft/greed or any other term you may dream up to make the confiscating and irresponsible dolloping out of their monies appear legitimate.
My friends, I worked with the pols of the 70s, 80s and 90s, every single standing committee, and some of the special and joint committees. It was clear decades ago, and when the numbers were WAY smaller, that there is not enough money in the world to sate the appetite of the members and the beggar/donators that our "representatives" entertain daily.
Ergo, he said tongue in cheek, I will NEVER ask anyone or anything to pay one single cent in tax that is not legally required and would, if I were a president willing to act outside the laws of the land and the Constitution to achieve my goals, cut: ALL federal taxes 50%, most federal programs 50 to 100%, at least four Departments, and lay off the hundreds of thousands of the functionally unemployable paycheck receivers euphemistically referred to as public servants now on the federal payroll. The remaining who carry them would get a raise. See. I am reasonable.
There. Now leave me alone.
