Your comment about the weather, sounds like around the Seattle area, we never let a little rain get in our having fun. Truthfully, I've lived in Minnesota , Texas, Mississippi, Idaho, Alaska and now Washington and some of those places seemed just as wet as Seattle is reputed to be. Our summer here has been great. Only two days with precipitation since June, that's over 40 days of great weather.
And fuel prices are falling here too making travel a little easier. I still commute daily with an Hybrid Electric Vehicle of sorts, converted my Schwinn bicycle to a hub motor in the front wheel in 2009, I have 30,000 miles on my bike, I commute daily with it summer and winter. Saves me $8 a day if I had to drive my diesel truck. 17 miles each way to and from work.
