San Sebastian has a terrific Basque festival every year about this time, featuring wonderful baritone singers who've spent the year up in the high pastures singing from valley to valley and hilltop to hilltop with news.

I suppose you noticed the 20 or so empty customs shacks at the Spain-France border, courtesy of the EU.

Biarritz is also beautiful, especially for golfers.

Noticed diesel was 1.31 today. Diesel plus is 1.36 Off to Barcelona tomorrow. Picked up a few words of Basque. Basque is the spoken language here but obviously Castellano is the go to language and to a lesser degree french. Im comfortable in Castellano and French but have enjoyed dabling in Basque. Very interesting culture here. Hope to be back someday. Made some good friends. We had a personal tour of Francos summer residence which is normally closed to tourism. We have been hiking 12 to 15 KM every day for 5 weeks. Time to move on and maybe rest a bit in Barcelona. One more swim in the ocean tomorrow morning.
