- dmattExplorerWe're at $4.11/gal right now and still rising. Plus, labor day weekend is right around the corner.....that's always good for another $.10-$.15 per gal!!!
- SRTExplorerAll but one local gas station have gasoline priced at $3.89. The one station has a gallon of gasoline for $3.88. Really competitive...:R Diesel is around $4.10 a gallon. We're only 11¢ a gallon away from that magical figure of $4.00 a gallon. Let's see how close they can get.
- dmattExplorerThis thread has become.....

- camperdaveExplorerhey Fezziwig, I was born and raised in RWC! My mom still lives there.
My local 'cheap' gas station is at $4.06 for the cheap stuff today. And there was a big line, since the station just down the road is at $4.36! :E I of course drove right by it in my electric car. :) - cekkkExplorerFezziwig, you may have an answer to a question I've had for years. As we travel the west we've passed wind farms in AZ and CA, primarily, but also Iowa and other states. Usually some or even all of the turbines are still. Any idea why?
- LindsayRichardsExplorerWhen the federal subsidies soon run out the wind industry can not survive. It is all about the subsidies which are about 70 times per megawatt generated the tax cuts given to oil and gas.
Link below shows a RV wind turbine that generates 400 watts in a 28 mph wind. This still won't run a coffee maker. It cost $1300. No way for an AC. A some point people have just got to face it, that this stuff isn't ready for prime time.
Realizing the state of alternatives doesn't make you anti alternatives, it just make you a realist. I plan on buying the first alternative on my block when they make sense, but now they don't.

Oil also fills the gas tanks for the workers that mine the coal. The point being?
Regardless the coal is still being mined and used for electrical generation in the developing world. Because we use less it's cheaper for them. That the goal and it's being achieved.
My point was little to nothing is independent of oil.- tomman58ExplorerDiesel $4.09 here in northern Michigan
- BumpyroadExplorerexcellent restraint Dick.
bumpy - Dick_AExplorerHey folks, let's not get too carried away. I have shown considerable latitude with recent posts but please don't push the issue.
