- SRTExplorerA bunch of stations have raised their prices back up to $3.99. Gee, it must be that the dollar is worth less...:E I wouldn't be surprised if prices went over $4.00. Oil is $92.99 this morning. The citizens of this great country continue to "get it in the shorts." :M

- DelCamperExplorerInflation at 2.5%? Who is kidding who? They have not used two minor things food and fuel as inputs into the consumer price index in the last 15 years.
They are cherry picking data. Trash in = trash out.
Inflation is running at 10+ % annually. All that being accomplished is the illusion of growth and with it a continuing lowering of your standard of living. - LindsayRichardsExplorer
The correct amount is $40 billion per month; you are off by a factor of 10.
That was a typo sorry. $40 BILLION is correct and still an unbelievable amount. The two previous ones have not had a lot of success, but these things are pretty much unprovable as they happen in the real world. - tomman58Explorer

Right on the mark Dick, QE 3 will make the dollar even weaker.
This is true but there are lots of pluses also. from morgage rates to inflation to commodities and so forth. If the fed pulls this off with little inflation (from about 2.1 to 2.5 ) it is a no brainer for jobs.
The fed is doing what the congress has not.................. getting the jobs market moving and several other parts of the economy pushing ahead. - RambleOnNWExplorer II

It is like printing money out of thin air. It is open ended without an end date or amount specified as in QE1 and QE2. It makes the value of our dollar worth less compared to gold, commodities and foreign currency. Really just about everything.
- The_WeekendersExplorerRight on the mark Dick, QE 3 will make the dollar even weaker.
- Dick_AExplorerIt is unlikely fuel prices will trend down for very long. As another long term of quantitative easing has started the dollar will be worth less on the world market and oil prices will likely trend higher.
- SRTExplorerGee, one station lowered their price to $3.89, whee! The rest of them are still at $3.94. Maybe by Christmas the price will be closer to $3.00. Feel sorry for those that are still commuting many miles each day.
