Since you invited me, I will opine!I believe that all representatives and congressmen that have served over the past twenty years should be convicted of treason and hung by the neck until dead. This would be for their crimes committed against the united states by creating the energy situation that we are in today.With that being said, we must do a few things to start the ball rolling in the right direction. 1) Repeal all laws restricting drilling in ANWR and off of our coasts.2) Build some refineries. Oil is useless without a way to turn it into fuel.3) Embrace nuclear energy. We made a few bad films about Nuclear that devastated the industry.4) Dump the subsidy and mandate for "food to fuel" programs. Admit it was a bad idea.If we embrace some of these ideas, we may see some relief down the road. If not, we won't.I saw yesterday where the House passed a bill allowing us to sue OPEC. That is simply insanity. If anyone should be sued it should be the idiots in Washington.Ok I'm done. I have to go to work now. ;-)(I need to stop and put $150 worth of gas in my Suburban)Jeff

And fuel will probably get pricier when Congress passes the CLIMATE CHANGE SECURITY ACT.

One other idea is to repeal the laws that require something like 8 or 9 different gasoline formulations depending on where you live in the U.S.

This from the AP wire a few minutes ago:NEW YORK - Oil prices bolted to a new record above $132 a barrel Wednesday after the government reported that supplies of crude oil and gasoline fell unexpectedly last week. And crude's rise in the futures market again pressured consumers by pulling prices at the pump higher — a gallon of regular gas rose overnight to a new record above $3.80 a gallon. In its weekly inventory report, the Energy Department's Energy Information Administration said crude oil inventories fell by more than 5 million barrels. Analysts had expected a modest increase. Gasoline inventories also fell and took the market by surprise.Light, sweet crude for July delivery was up more about $3, rising as high as $132.08 a barrel in late morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.At the pump, the average national price of a gallon of regular gas rose 0.7 cent overnight to a record $3.807 a gallon, according to a survey of stations by AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Prices are 60 cents higher than a year ago, and many forecasters believe they'll hit $4 on a national basis at some point over the next month. Prices are already that high in many parts of the country, and the number of stations charging $4 or more rises each day.Diesel fuel rose 1.9 cents to its own record price of $4.558 a gallon Wednesday. Rising prices of diesel, used to transport most consumer and industrial goods, are sending prices of food and many other goods higher.

There has not been a new refinery built in the last 20 years and now there will not be anymore with the EPA. They will be closing the existing ones like the coal fired power plants.

Heard Wallstreet people saying that now that we are used to $3.50 gas that we are ripe for an increase. they were saying it was a good time to invest in refineries. Looks like the US is going to the wolfs.

Gasoline prices continue to drift down. Several stations have dropped 4¢ a gallon to $3.25. While prices of gasoline drift down the DW said food prices continue to increase. Too bad our garden had a bad season as it was so dry and our well level has dropped.

Suzuki calling it quits in US

Suzuki’s decision to stop selling cars in the U.S. comes as little surprise to automotive industry experts and raises questions about the ability of other automakers with small volume, such as Mitsubishi, to compete.

Interesting as the market seems to lean to the smaller gas sippers today.

Oh gas went down a few cents today but a gallon of milk went up 20 cents.

We filled up the toad at $3.27 and then saw regular at $3.21. My coach still has $3.54 in it. Probably will run a lots better.

Traveling into central MO yesterday the lowest was $3.09/$3.59 as I recall.

Where I filled up 87 was $3.16 and 91 was $3.47

I agree it is strange that we get excited when they raise the price $1 a gallon then cut it by 50 cents. :(

I filled my diesel pickup last night and it was kind of crazy at the gas station, 3 or 4 car waits at each pump. Never thought we'd be excited to see fuel that cost over three dollars a gallon considered "cheap", but it was nice to fill up for less than a hundred dollars.

I was joined by many other diesel owners vying for the couple diesel pumps amongst the gas pumps at the local Fred Meyer store fuel station.

I paid $3.60 a gallon for diesel. Hans

Well after talking to my nephew who is working on a battery management system for the Ford 150. I don't think the wait for several hybrid electic over gas trucks will be long. GM also has the Silverado hybrid with this new thinking. I was told this is a very active project that has the auto makers excited.

Just saying.
