Since you invited me, I will opine!I believe that all representatives and congressmen that have served over the past twenty years should be convicted of treason and hung by the neck until dead. This would be for their crimes committed against the united states by creating the energy situation that we are in today.With that being said, we must do a few things to start the ball rolling in the right direction. 1) Repeal all laws restricting drilling in ANWR and off of our coasts.2) Build some refineries. Oil is useless without a way to turn it into fuel.3) Embrace nuclear energy. We made a few bad films about Nuclear that devastated the industry.4) Dump the subsidy and mandate for "food to fuel" programs. Admit it was a bad idea.If we embrace some of these ideas, we may see some relief down the road. If not, we won't.I saw yesterday where the House passed a bill allowing us to sue OPEC. That is simply insanity. If anyone should be sued it should be the idiots in Washington.Ok I'm done. I have to go to work now. ;-)(I need to stop and put $150 worth of gas in my Suburban)Jeff

And fuel will probably get pricier when Congress passes the CLIMATE CHANGE SECURITY ACT.

One other idea is to repeal the laws that require something like 8 or 9 different gasoline formulations depending on where you live in the U.S.

This from the AP wire a few minutes ago:NEW YORK - Oil prices bolted to a new record above $132 a barrel Wednesday after the government reported that supplies of crude oil and gasoline fell unexpectedly last week. And crude's rise in the futures market again pressured consumers by pulling prices at the pump higher — a gallon of regular gas rose overnight to a new record above $3.80 a gallon. In its weekly inventory report, the Energy Department's Energy Information Administration said crude oil inventories fell by more than 5 million barrels. Analysts had expected a modest increase. Gasoline inventories also fell and took the market by surprise.Light, sweet crude for July delivery was up more about $3, rising as high as $132.08 a barrel in late morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.At the pump, the average national price of a gallon of regular gas rose 0.7 cent overnight to a record $3.807 a gallon, according to a survey of stations by AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Prices are 60 cents higher than a year ago, and many forecasters believe they'll hit $4 on a national basis at some point over the next month. Prices are already that high in many parts of the country, and the number of stations charging $4 or more rises each day.Diesel fuel rose 1.9 cents to its own record price of $4.558 a gallon Wednesday. Soooooooo what is your point.

No one said these cars were for everyone. the concept is new and those who live in urban areas like Detroit and surrounding burbs are thrilled with these.
I won't drive my volt across the USA but the money saved every single day on fuel makes it possible for me to drive my Dmax across
America and not look back.

To bad you cannot grasp the concept and the reward but as a resident of central Fl you have to drive for a 1/2 hour and more just to find a shopping mall and then it isn't complete so you drive another 1/2 hour to find another store of choice! We drive 20 minutes max and that puts us in more theaters, ball fields, casinos and restaurants then you could if you drove all day, LOL.

Gas prices went up to 3.79 here in places while I saw them a 3.49 in other places. This just does not make any sense to me. I guess these guys just push prices to find the top at any given time.

We hit $3.45. This does not make sense in the face of a double dip recession shaping up. Oh maybe it was the attach on Syria and Iran stating they are coming into the war to support Syria.

Anyway the prices are like a cork in a pond of full of hungry 2" bluegill fish.

One gas station is up to $3.54, most are around $3.45. Oil prices haven't increased all that much. IIRC the oil prices moved from $95 to $97. Sure doesn't support the large increase in gasoline prices.

When I took my trip from Central Florida to Washington, State is when it got to $4 per gallon.

Diesel is holding pretty good here in east valley of Phoenix, but unleaded up 20 to 40 cents over past couple weeks. And BO's strategy of appealing to the moronity seems to have been well founded.

Crude oil prices

I suspect that these prices will drop after the horrible news that the US economy actually contracted in the 4th Quarter. 2% growth is needed to keep up with population growth. Futures as the name implies are a bet on the futures and news like this happening for the first time in 3 1/2 years makers buyers wary. I am planning a RV trip in March and that tend so always drive up the price too. Sorry guys.
