- LindsayRichardsExplorerI did see that CA stopped a measure to stop fracking in their legislator last week. They are the state with the biggest usage of fossil fuels and used to have the largest reserves until the new technologies came into play. Energy could be a way to stop the hemorrhage of taxes and industry leaving the state. Their state could become an exporter of domestic energy.

It's just good sense that when the price of one resource gets too high that a guy switches to another, competing , resource. That's what Free Enterprise is about. wrote:
It is not about the free market when the government does everything it can to make traditional energy much more expensive so their favored high cost energy can try to compete. - Greydog_1ExplorerSave 25.00. Don't buy biodegradable gas in a can. Use your gas gauge and plan accordingly. No need to add extra carry weight which adds to consumption.
- endlesstravelExplorerSome tips for saving money on gas:
- Avoid idling, skip the drive through, check traffic reports
- Only use AC on highway, using AC while going slow use more energy (8+% of your tank)
- Make sure your gas cap has a good seal, other wise gasoline evaporates out, especially in the sun.
- Don't use roof rack as an attic, don't haul bikes and other things, that aren't needed, they create drag using more fuel.
- Always keep good air pressure in the tires, replace air filters, spark plugs and oil when needed.
I've carried a product called "extra fuel" around in my storage for 5 years without thinking about it. Two weeks ago I ran out of gas in the middle of the Adirondacks, no cell phone reception, pouring rain, 3+hr walk to nearest gas stations. I put in the "extra fuel" and the truck started right up and I was able to make it to the gas station without a problem. I would def recommend carrying this at all times. It's some sort of non-flammable gas that works in all gas engine types. It says its biodegradable and completely safe to carry around. It's not cheap, around $25 for a half gal container, so it's for emergencies only, but when the time comes, the $25 is totally worth it. You can read more about what exactly it is here. I saw listed cheapest on amazon. - homedadExplorerWe are so screwed in Michigan this year. My hedge doesn't help when it's just one state or local retailers who raise the price.

- dannydimittExplorerYou ever noticed that whenever the price of crude goes up a buck or two due to speculators greed, before the announcer on the TV or Radio even gets through speaking, the retail fuel stations are breaking land speed records jacking all the prices up . But when the price of crude drops by a buck or two it takes weeks for the price at the pumps to trickle down because they have paid higher prices for the product in the underground tanks.
- HJGyswytExplorerAt our grocery store without discounts, advertised as $3.89 for regular UL and $4.03 for diesel.
Tuesday after work heading out with our trailer, gonna play hooky for a few days, even staying through to Monday pretending I'm retired and don't have to go home Sunday. My day is coming.....
