Since you invited me, I will opine!I believe that all representatives and congressmen that have served over the past twenty years should be convicted of treason and hung by the neck until dead. This would be for their crimes committed against the united states by creating the energy situation that we are in today.With that being said, we must do a few things to start the ball rolling in the right direction. 1) Repeal all laws restricting drilling in ANWR and off of our coasts.2) Build some refineries. Oil is useless without a way to turn it into fuel.3) Embrace nuclear energy. We made a few bad films about Nuclear that devastated the industry.4) Dump the subsidy and mandate for "food to fuel" programs. Admit it was a bad idea.If we embrace some of these ideas, we may see some relief down the road. If not, we won't.I saw yesterday where the House passed a bill allowing us to sue OPEC. That is simply insanity. If anyone should be sued it should be the idiots in Washington.Ok I'm done. I have to go to work now. ;-)(I need to stop and put $150 worth of gas in my Suburban)Jeff

And fuel will probably get pricier when Congress passes the CLIMATE CHANGE SECURITY ACT.

One other idea is to repeal the laws that require something like 8 or 9 different gasoline formulations depending on where you live in the U.S.

And crude's rise in the futures market again pressured consumers by pulling prices at the pump higher — a gallon of regular gas rose overnight to a new record above $3.80 a gallon. In its weekly inventory report, the Energy Department's Energy Information Administration said crude oil inventories fell by more than 5 million barrels. Analysts had expected a modest increase. Gasoline inventories also fell and took the market by surprise.Light, sweet crude for July delivery was up more about $3, rising as high as $132.08 a barrel in late morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.At the pump, the average national price of a gallon of regular gas rose 0.7 cent overnight to a record $3.807 a gallon, according to a survey of stations by AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Prices are 60 cents higher than a year ago, and many forecasters believe they'll hit $4 on a national basis at some point over the next month. Prices are already that high in many parts of the country, and the number of stations charging $4 or more rises each day.Diesel fuel rose 1.9 cents to its own record price of $4.558 a gallon Wednesday. You only go by once and to short your experiences with friends, no matter how far, can't be replaced and a few cents more or less in fuel prices just don't count!

Recent 400 mile round trip, Seattle area (Buckley WA) to Moses Lake and back with our travel trailer. Only got 7mpg towing our trailer with our 454 Suburban. I think it was uphill both ways and we had headwinds going and coming home. Gas is $3.89 and Diesel $4.09 a gallon around here.

Even though it cost us $250 in fuel, our four day mini vacation was money well spent with friends, new scenery and a break from our busy lives. Hans

I've been hammering the Volt lately and may have to put 4 or 5 gallons in it sometime in the next couple weeks. LOL

Been buying Diesel though as wife is planting about 70 or so flats of flowers this year and the truck can handle about 48 flats at a time.
Have not gotten the TT out of the dealers yet as was to cold then planting season happened. soon though we will head north to the UP to cool off. Fuel up there is generally 10 to 20 cents higher.

Just filled up the smart car with 18 bucks worth of diesel. 1.28 per litre or about 4.80 US PER US gallon. Hasn't really gone up much here in the last 5 years. Maybe 16 cents a litre. It'll drop here after the long weekend....and then go back up for the next long weekend. :). Gas is about a dime more right now.

I paid $3.32 in Central Florida today for 87 octane. We saw it for $3.29 at a pilot Flying J over the weekend.

Diesel in Northern California is $3.89 a gallon. Found it at several stations and filled up 32 gallons in my truck yesterday.

Well, we're getting it in the shorts up. Current prices today are $4.29 to $4.39 per gallon. They say prices will start drifting down in a month. Meanwhile the additional costs are hitting everyone's wallet. The first week in June we're taking a 500 mile round trip. Oh, well, the motor home needs fresh gas anyway.

And considering the lower 85 octane rating, regular here is even higher, more like 3.90
