My dentist used to put all his office lab work from crowns to dentures on his CC. He has enough plane miles to go to anywhere in the world anytime he wants. It is all a game, be a player not the fool. - Gale_HawkinsExplorer

On another energy note.............
I charge for my electric, NG, propane and a second electric company, and of course GAS (when needed ((rare occurrence) at Costco. I not only do not pay them a penalty for using the charge but get a bonus from my Visa and American Express for using them!
I get a 600 to 800 dollar bonus from AE yearly for using their card.
The gas stations are no more than a rip to the public that bases most of their buying on credit, case closed.
Sorry you get no bonus from AE. That is just some of the extra money AE charges the merchant that acceps AE and is one reason some do not take AE.
Just remember ANY and ALL bonus money does not come from AE but the business owner who takes the plastic.
Get your facts straight before you do your closing arguments. :B - koda55ExplorerGas in Jacksonville, Fl went from 3.39 last night to 3.49 today.
- cekkkExplorerHere in Colorado we have excess generating capacity. But our electric companies are required to get 10% from renewable sources. Now the lefty loons have voted out a bill that would increase that percentage to 20. Damn the cost to the public. This, after having previously held meetings with those concerned on the subject, then not even sending a courtesy letter, just did it in secret. The utilities are hoping gov. Hickenlooper will reject it. Right.
- LindsayRichardsExplorerEvery business pays the credit card fees and every business figures in a way to charge the customer. This goes for the bonus points which are also paid for by the store. They make you think you are getting something for nothing, but as we all know, there is no such thing as a free lunch. They just make some people think they are getting something for nothing.

It is emergency if I find out a dealer charges me extra for card use, I then put enough in using cash to go find a station that doesn't charge my card extra. I saved that extra and put it in tank at station that doesn't fee me on top of price shown on board. So far very few stations I find charge me extra for card.
- Ski_Pro_3ExplorerMy feeling is that the price should be the same with the seller making the sale that otherwise he would NOT have gotten with cash. For example; I have $200 in my wallet. I'd like to keep my cash for emergencies so I use my card when possible. The gas station discounts cash or charges 10 cents ($3 for 30 gallons) for card users. So, I use the cash BUT I don't fill up. I only buy $50 in fuel, not $120 (assuming fuel is $4 and I'm buying 30 gallons) I'd think the seller would rather sell $120 for a credit card user than $50 for a cash user.
Hope that makes sense... - John___AngelaExplorerDiesel was a 1.31 litre here on last fill-up. Getting close to 18 bucks on a fillup when I fill at the quarter mark in the smart car. A few years back (maybe 5) I remember it was about 17-18 bucks to go from Vernon to Calgary. A trip of around 300 miles plus or minus. Now its up around 22. It has gone up but probably not as much as people think. There was brief dip in the price right around the big crash but I remember it being close to what it is now a year or two before. It hurts when filling the big tank in the coach but the daily or monthly change in the numbers is not nearly as noticeable on a little tank. Between the two of us we probably spend an extra 20 bucks a month on fuel than we did 10 years ago. Generally speaking though (unless there is a trip involved) we only fill a couple of times per month. Our commute is not that long when we are working which of course helps a lot.
- Greydog_1ExplorerWhatever the set price is-give the cash buyer dime off/gal. ALl others will be charged 10cents per gal if we are going to do any extra fees. This will bolster the idea that cash is cheaper to do.We generally don't see other businesses charging extra for using the card.
