Say, aren't we kinda off on a tangent from the "RV Fuel Issues & Prices"????
Stephen, if it weren't for these colorful dialogs this would be the most boring thread in the world. Once a day I check my Facebook and then see if any of the red and blue have commented here. I love it.
I often wonder if we were all in the same park camping together if we could sit around the same campfire and have a good laugh? Hans - SRTExplorerSay, aren't we kinda off on a tangent from the "RV Fuel Issues & Prices"????
Up in these "neck of the woods" prices at some stations have moderated their prices and in several cases retreated 4¢ a gallon for regular gasoline. It seems that premium fuel is running at least 25¢ a gallon more than regular. The other day I went to get 10 gallons of non-ethanol and it cost me $40 :E. That's a high price to keep my small engines running OK. - cekkkExplorer

To get back on track :R
Just when things were getting interesting again. Jeez!
And a word of advice, friend. Don't advertise you watch real news on FBN or FNC. A few here will become apoplectic! :E - SRTExplorerTo get back on track, we've had at least a 10¢ a gallon increases in gasoline prices. This morning our local gasoline prices vary from $3.55 to $3.79. Most of the stations are at $3.69.
Diesel prices vary from $3.84 to $3.99. Here we go for another roller coaster ride. :M
This morning at FBN they were talking about a probable drop in oil prices this weekend. Well, I'm "not holding my breath." :R LindsayRichards wrote:
Rationalizing taking the free money taken from other. Thankfully only a few are taking it.
My point is that the EV credit is in effect no different than a mortgage interest and property tax deduction. MANY use this to reduce their individual taxes just as you did in the 1980s.- tomman58Explorer

cekkk, the EV credit is not refundable in excess of what you paid in. And any unused credit does not carry forward. The EV credit is the same as any deduction it just wipes out what you would have paid. No other taxpayer money gets refunded to the EV buyer, only your own. That is my point.
If you owe $5,000 and paid in estimated tax of $4,900 you get a credit of the $4,900 only.
On a lease the owner (leasing company) can take the full credit assuming they make money and would otherwise pay that tax. Again only the individual's own money is refunded.
The IRS is not handing out $7,500 checks to anyone that is not paying tax.
It works just the same as an interest deduction or most other deductions.
My original rant was about LR claiming that she is subsidizing EV leases when that is just not true as your point made clear.
If you don't like the way congress is spending money you really need to write to your representatives.

So your home loan was subsidized by the rest of the taxpayers just the same as you feel you are paying for these EVs, solar & wind projects."
Nice try. No, I'm wrong. It's not a nice try, it's just gibberish and the usual postulating from the left. Allowing me to keep my own money in the form of a tax deduction is not in the same universe as taking the tax money I do send in and handing it out to favored industries or companies or abortion clinics or to individuals in the form of heavily subsidized vehicles.
"sub·si·dy (sbs-d)
n. pl. sub·si·dies
1. Monetary assistance granted by a government to a person or group in support of an enterprise regarded as being in the public interest.
2. Financial assistance given by one person or government to another." - LindsayRichardsExplorerI never said anything about Michigan, but Detroit speaks for itself. You continue to start these spats with you constant running down of Florida and it's citizens where you chose to spend a major part of your life. I will continue to defend it. If you don't want to hear it, then stop trashing Florida especially when you come from the city that Forbes Magazine rates as the worst city in the nation. I never start if, but when you keep trashing Florida, you can expect to hear back from me. You seem to enjoy it. Every time you trash Florida, be prepared to hear back about your own failings.
- The money spent on solar and wind is a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of the oil wars over the last two decades. Add to that all the foreign aid to "stablize" the middle east. Not to mention all the lives lost to keep the oil flowing. How many kids will grow up without their dad or mom because of our need for oil?
