Under the topic of things aren't always what they seem: Sources say that nitrous oxide emissions were normal during supposed refinery shutdowns in California during the gasoline price spikes, indicating that the refineries were not actually shut down:

There was plenty of gasoline available, no actual shortages.

Alas, I live here and it is basically shut down, shuttered up and thousands of employees moved away. It is just a shell with no future projects.

Thanksgiving as the MOD only tossed 75% of my posts but then they weren't political nor were they about anything but oil and energy.
