- cekkkExplorer85 Octane at one station was $3.13 yesterday. Big whoop! Diesel still up there at $3.79.
SRT - I bought a new '80 Olds station wagon with that gas-come-diesel piece of junk. If I remember right, and I may not, it was about that time that diesel rose to or above regular in Maryland. - SRTExplorerWonder of wonders. Two gas stations lowered prices to $3.19. The rest are staying at $3.25. Maybe the downward trend continues??? Diesel remains just below $4.00. Just think, at number of years ago diesel was cheaper than gasoline.
Oh, yeah, Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy (?) New Year!! - tomman58Explorer

The much heralded (on this forum) MiEV has finally broken the 40 vehicles sold per month. Hopefully this minicar can break the 50 vehicles next month which would get them above the 1 per state barrier. Yahoo Auto rated it the second biggest flop of the year right behind the Fisker. Thankfully there have been no reported fires.
if by "much heralded" you mean mentioned as a possible good TOAD by one EV Zealot (me), then yeah I guess you are right. :R FWIW, Mitsubishi has sold ~20k units worldwide and has not suffered any problems yet. Unlike the Leaf (wilting batteries), the Tesla (bricking batteries), or the fires of the Fisker and Volt (both hybrids, but still lumped in the conversation by most). It's a good car, though funny looking.
I had to gas up the van twice yesterday, it hurts but it's also a good sign cause it means I was on vacation. :B Back home and into the groove this week, one nice thing about my EV is the heater is electric (dual 1500 Watt elements in place of the original heater core) and they get instantly hot! No waiting for the car to warm up on these 40 degree mornings. :)
With the Volt we just used the electric seats to heat us up. This was effective even at 40 degrees. I did use the heater once and it is immediate. In fact if I ran out of electric the heat from the engine heated the car.
Oh yeah, Merry, merry ................ - FezziwigExplorerMerry christmas!
- LindsayRichardsExplorerPlease refer to the recent admonition from the moderator about being nice to each other. Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas and happy Easter! - cekkkExplorerDickA and everybody, MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HANUKKAH!
- Dick_AExplorerFolks, this thread has been running for about four and a half years and during that time I have had to do some serious editing and ask members to please stay on subject several times.
On a few occasions, I have been asked why I spend the time trying to keep the thread on an even keel rather than just closing it. After all, it has now run longer than the famous Wal Mart thread of many years ago.
The answer is I do like open dialog on the issue and closely related issues as long as political content is absent and serious respect is paid to other members postings. In other words, I do not like flaming and I do reserve to right to edit or delete posts.
I do try to follow the intent and spirit of the forum rules, however, just as back in the day when I had to judge the merits of college term papers, I do have to make some subjective decisions about postings on this thread.
As we approach the Christmas Holiday period of renewal and joy, let us all consider being more respective of others views in the coming year.

MiEV is an acronym for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle—it’s a five-door hatchback electric car that sold just 42 units in the U.S. in November. The nearly $30,000 price tag could have something to do with the poor sales—at that price you’d expect better handling and considerably more space than the paltry offerings here.
