Actually, it's monopoly economics at work. They all do the same thing, and at their pleasure. - LindsayRichardsExplorerWe picked up an additional 25 cents a gallon when come back from LA to FL. It is $3.55 here in Florida and I did pay $3.29 in LA at a Pilot Flying J. Gas Buddy is really a neat thing.
- SRTExplorerCan't believe it! Prices continue to drop. One station dropped down to $3.39. Many are at $3.42 with a few at $3.45. Diesel remains at $3.92 to $4.09. Oil price this morning is $93.97. Hmm, I detect a pattern here - prices drop to $92.xx then bounce to $97.xx, then slowly slide back to $92.xx. Looks like people run the price up, then sell. When the price gets down, they buy low and sell high. Ha, capitalism at work. :B
- SRTExplorerGasoline prices are still sliding downward. Prices are from $3.42 up to $3.52. Diesel prices are $3.92 to $4.16. When the "driving season" starts wonder what the prices will do at that time.

Down here in Phoenix they're ringing the last $$ out of the remaining snowbirds. Regular about 3.65 or higher, diesel about 3.80, although I found a Valero station at 3.67.
Diesel for $3.80 is a sweet deal most all states it is $3.95 to $4.20.
Was surprised to see it in upper Michigan for $3.95 pretty much 10 to 20 cents higher up there, but then we aren't in the tourist season yet!
BTW I75 southbound at Saginaw looks like a loser this year as they are redoing the road there. - Desert_CaptainExplorer III

Come on down to Tucson where regular has been $3.33 for a couple of weeks. :C - cekkkExplorerDown here in Phoenix they're ringing the last $$ out of the remaining snowbirds. Regular about 3.65 or higher, diesel about 3.80, although I found a Valero station at 3.67.

By the way, what does it cost to product a barrel of oil?
A new generation 6 offshore drilling rig costs $750 MILLION and about that again to equip. That is before the first drop comes up. Exploration costs are added into the cost of the raw material. Shell Oil has spent over $4 1/2 BILLION trying to get it's first well drilled off of NW Alaska. There is much cheaper oil available that is proven and much cheaper to get, but off limits. We as the buyer of the fuel end up paying the full bill for everything. - Gale_HawkinsExplorergas/diesel was down to $3.36 and $3.79 today locally.
- SRTExplorerGasoline continues to very slowly move in a downward direction. $3.52 a gallon of gasoline seems to be the choice of price. $93.05 is the price for a barrel of oil this morning. That's down $4. Hopefully we can plan on lower prices during the driving season (dreaming again...)
