Since you invited me, I will opine!I believe that all representatives and congressmen that have served over the past twenty years should be convicted of treason and hung by the neck until dead. This would be for their crimes committed against the united states by creating the energy situation that we are in today.With that being said, we must do a few things to start the ball rolling in the right direction. 1) Repeal all laws restricting drilling in ANWR and off of our coasts.2) Build some refineries. Oil is useless without a way to turn it into fuel.3) Embrace nuclear energy. We made a few bad films about Nuclear that devastated the industry.4) Dump the subsidy and mandate for "food to fuel" programs. Admit it was a bad idea.If we embrace some of these ideas, we may see some relief down the road. If not, we won't.I saw yesterday where the House passed a bill allowing us to sue OPEC. That is simply insanity. If anyone should be sued it should be the idiots in Washington.Ok I'm done. I have to go to work now. ;-)(I need to stop and put $150 worth of gas in my Suburban)Jeff

And fuel will probably get pricier when Congress passes the CLIMATE CHANGE SECURITY ACT.

One other idea is to repeal the laws that require something like 8 or 9 different gasoline formulations depending on where you live in the U.S.

And crude's rise in the futures market again pressured consumers by pulling prices at the pump higher — a gallon of regular gas rose overnight to a new record above $3.80 a gallon. In its weekly inventory report, the Energy Department's Energy Information Administration said crude oil inventories fell by more than 5 million barrels. Analysts had expected a modest increase. Gasoline inventories also fell and took the market by surprise.Light, sweet crude for July delivery was up more about $3, rising as high as $132.08 a barrel in late morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.At the pump, the average national price of a gallon of regular gas rose 0.7 cent overnight to a record $3.807 a gallon, according to a survey of stations by AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Prices are 60 cents higher than a year ago, and many forecasters believe they'll hit $4 on a national basis at some point over the next month. Prices are already that high in many parts of the country, and the number of stations charging $4 or more rises each day.Diesel fuel rose 1.9 cents to its own record price of $4.558 a gallon Wednesday. Shut down for maintenance? No-Shut down for profit. And the fear by the refinery that they may be off line for longer than expected. That brings up more prices at the pump. It's either this way or a planned fire. Remember, we have to do something to increase prices at pump.

Yesterday gasoline prices leaped up 20¢+ to $4.19 a gallon (one station at $4.35) at many stations. Seems that two refinery's in the Chicago area shut down for maintenance. I'm curious as to why, being about 300 miles away, our gasoline prices increased. Across the river there is a refinery where we get our gasoline. Seems to me that we, the consumer, is getting it the shorts, again :E. This "massive" increase is a "sneaky" way increase someone's profit margin.

Costs more in Deetroit because the tanker drivers are afraid to go in there. They have to pay hazard pay. Dave Bing quit. He is the mayor who replaced previous mayor now doing 20 years in jail for corruption.

Gas is $3.59 here in Mich. I don't know of WM as that is Floridians. Probably Chinese gas, LOL

These gasoline prices are going to hamper the tourist industry up here for sure. For the first time in many months the cost of most diesel is hovering around $3.95-$3.99 with one station at $4.35. I'm beginning to think that someone wants us to start driving those dinky little high mileage vehicles. Geeze, I wonder where I can put the 6hp outboard on my fishing boat. Maybe there is enough room on the transom :h.

Holy Buckets!!! Gas prices have leaped up another 20¢ a gallon to $4.19 :E. What the heck is happening???? Lately the prices have been incrementing by 10 - 20¢ a gallon. Luckily we were able to stop at the local Sam's Club and fill up at $3.89 (big deal :M) this afternoon. It was at a high of $3.95 this morning when we filled up at a local station. Sputter, sputter....:h

I paid $2.75 in Vallejo on Thursday. But, that was with a $1 off from Safeway. ;)

Unleaded is now under $3 a gallon here in Tucson. Several stations are at $2.98. :C

Gas prices up here just hit $149.9/liter. That's $6.80/imp.gal.
That's approx. $5.60/US.Gal...dollar is about par right now.

I'm driving to Florida in October. It would be nice if the prices stay around $3.50-4.00/gal.
