RV Mattress

Looking to buy a new Queen mattress for the motorhome. Any recommendations or mattresses that you would not buy?
  • Tuft & Needle google it buy direct or through Amazon. Firm but soft we had one in our former 5er and after the first night in our present one the wife ordered a replacement for the sad excuse for one that came with the new 5er.
  • We put a 3” foam topper from Costco on our original matress and feels like new and very much more comfortable.
  • King SleepNumber from home when going full-time in 2011. Would NEVER own anything else! Originally purchased to pacify Wife but I soon became a believer.

I once tried Memory foam. Now I know some folks love 'em.. I don't.

I am considering a special order. but will likely wind up at Camping World.

Sleep number is very interesting... but the price is not.

What thickness is recommended for the Zinus mattress?

Mine's an 8" but I have a 2" foam topper thrown on that. So I recommend 10" ;) I'd like it even thicker but my bed has the underbed storage and that adds to the lift weight ;(
  • First trip out in our new TT nearly a dozen years ago and our backs were pretty sore after a few days, having a regular size queen all it took was going to a local mattress store to get what felt best. Currently looking for a new TT or 5er and have seen plenty that will accommodate regular size queen and even king mattresses, although many RVs state they have an upgraded residential style mattress I can see they are still just cheap mattresses that will have to be replaced immediately if we want any chance of getting any restorative rest through the night.

NOT cheap but we are on the same mattress for over 15 years. Best night sleep!
  • sleep number is not cheap but I wouldn't have anything else. Won't regret it.
  • When we ordered our Wildcat DW wanted the upgrade to a Trump Serta mattress. I thought it was too pricy an option but She who must be obeyed won the argument. 1st night I told her I was "gulp" wrong. More comfortable a mattress than our stick n bricks which was $400. more.
