Lake George RV Park They have a two acre dog park. They estimate 60% of their guest bring a dog. Off leash park with spray fountain for cooling off. Dog wash station. Dog treat vending machines. Synthetic turf. Large and small dog areas. Beats the heck out of most places that give you ten by ten spot out in the weeds to poop your pup. Maybe if other parks follow suit there wouldn't be so many dog complant posts.

Probably more accurate to say dog owner haters. It is the inconsiderate owners that create the problem, not the dogs.

Tawas Point State park (Michigan) opened up an entire dog beach on the bay side of the park a couple of years ago. Dogs can be off leash and the area has some snow fencing on each end as the borders. Huge area, several acres. They put in a wooden walkway complete with a water spigot and buckets to clean your dog up leaving the beach. The Lake Huron side of the park is the better swimming beach for people, but there is still lots of area to swim on the bay side that is not dog beach. This is one of the nicest State parks in Michigan and they are always making improvements.

Yeah, it's on the owners! They should teach dogs how to use flushing toilets.I gave up on my dogs, after I disovered they have abnormaliites,.....like low IQ. Therefore, we have to use plastic bags.In my next life, there will be mostly drones and robots.

Some dogs love socializing with other dogs. I always get a laugh when my brother tells me about taking his dog to "Doggy Daycare". His dog loves it and is all worn out when she comes home. I guess it's like a play-date. ;)

You've got that right.

Take you dog to a huge open area where there are 10 to 20 other loose dogs? :S

9 out of 10 owners do not have a solid recall or for that fact any training on their dogs and just as many have never even let their dogs loose with other dogs. It's the owners that feel the need to do this not the dogs.

Dog parks are Dog fights just waiting to happen. Nope I am not about to turn my dog loose in an open area with owners and dogs I know nothing about. Not to mention you have no idea if these dogs are healthy and not carrying disease.

I travel with my 115 pound Bernese Mtn Dog that I also show at times. We do not go to dog parks. He does not need to meet your dog. He stays on the end of his 6 foot leash and we have a great time. A dog park is a great place to have your dog pick up bugs, get sick, or in a fight. Any one of those will spoil a vacation. To those of you that love dog parks, enjoy. I don't hate them.

Four Paws Kingdom is one of the best places we have ever camped. If we are even close I will go back! Hiking with your dog off leash, swimming with your dog off leash, Easter Egg Hunts just for your dog, what more can you ask for? Great place.

We stayed at LG NY this summer and it's a fantastic place. We loved it as much as our little Pug. Campground is almost as nice at the dog park. (arf, arf)

It's the Lake George in New York.

Glad to get the news and I have learned about a bunch of parks in striking range, but it would have been nice if you had included NEW YORK someplace in the first post.

I know six Lake Georges and four camp grounds by that name.
