RV PARK

Planning a visit to the Pompano, Florida area just north of Fort Lauderdale first part of January 2017. Can anyone recommend a place for a couple nights. I have a 33'MH with slides.

There are a few Broward County parks with full or partial hookups.

The RV parks listed in Pompano Beach are really mobile home parks, and I wouldn't recommend it.

In January, Aztec RV Resort in Margate is usually fully booked with seasonal Class A's from the North, as is Kozy Kampers in Ft. Lauderdale. KK is also located in a not-so-safe at night neighborhood.

Our favorite - Yacht Haven RV Park - is available, although a bit farther south. It's at I-95 near the FLL airport, so it's easily accessible to all of Pompano Beach.

PM us for further information if you need it. We live in Coconut Creek, just across the Turnpike from Pompano Beach.
  • The "best" parks in that area in my opinion are Broward and Palm Beach County parks. Good facilities, reasonable rates. A great many of the parks in that area only rent by the month that time of year. The county parks have daily rates and spots.

If the park is booked at first try, call the park again in a week. We did that for four weeks before we got a spot at TY Park.

The US Army Corps of Engineers has s nice small park next to the lock for the cross Florida canal at Port St Lucie. But it is hard to get a reservation.

We've also stayed at The Savannas - a St Lucie County park near Fort Pierce. Very nice.

Search for the county name and parks. I.e. Palm Beach County Parks for more info.
  • It's a bit north, but John Prince Park in Lake Worth (off Lantana) is pretty nice. If you can't find anything closer try there.
  • I can't give any specific recommendations for that area but ANYPLACE in Florida in January just about requires advanced reservations. Unless you enjoy "adventure" and maybe moving every day.
