RV Pump Issues

Working on a camper and I am having a issue with the pump. It will not bring water up from the fresh tank. I though it was a bad pump so I replaced it with a new one. When the pump is on, it will only pump a little bit of water when a facet is open. When you close the facet it runs dry and keeps running. Shown in the video linked. Any thoughts? All connections that I can see are nice and tight. When hooked to city water all the facets work like they should. This unit was parked in a campground club and was always on city water.

  • Was a loose connection on the underside of the turn off valve from the fresh tank. Thanks!

It is bringing up water from the tank now but air is also coming along and making the facets spit. And thoughts on that ? My 5th does not do that.
  • You could have debris in the hose running from the fresh water tank to the pump. Usually the city water supply enters your plumbing after the pump and that is all working. You've replaced the pump. Therefore, it would seem logical the problem is between the pump and the tank. Could a leaf or fabric gotten into the fresh water tank the plugged the freshwater feed? Can you use an air compressor and "blow out" the line from the pump back into the tank? Let us know what you find!!
  • You have a connection that is not sealed tight and its sucking air. Redo the connections and try again
  • One of the low point drains is probably open a little bit? Does the water drain out after a while? That was the problem with our last TT.
