RV Shipping Fees

Sold my motor home and looking at a 5er or a TT. Most invoices that I have seen do not mention "freight" as part of the invoice total.
I just received a quote for a Jayco 5er that 'added' $3k to the quote for "freight".

I know that 'someone' pays for this but my question is: Does the RV dealer pay the shipping fee and usually doesn't disclose on the unit invoice OR does the manufacturer pay the cost and I am being scammed.

Thanks for your input.

  • Get the "out the door" price from a couple of dealers. This should include everything from taxes, shiiping fees, dealer prep fees, etc. Much easier to compare this way. Good luck
  • Compare pricing amongst a few dealers (in writing). Freight is a real cost but all that matters is the bottom line that you pay out the door including the prep and PDI. $3000 is a bit steep for freight for most destinations.
