RV Tires.

Can anyone give me feed back on Firestone tires? I have Goodyear now. They are 295/80/R225. I can get the Firestone for around $1,800 less than The goodyear or Michelins.

Many tires get flat spots when sitting overnight. What load range are the tires?

  • It amazes me how old attitudes keep permeating this board. Firestone does make good tires. They have a very good tire favored by the pickup crowd-The Destination A/T.

Yes, 40 years ago they had a problem with their 521 tires. The 721s were actually the replacement tire for the 521 PROBLEM TIRES.
  • I seem to remember a Firestone 721 debacle even before the huge problem with the tires it sold Ford. Maybe I'm having a brain fart, but seems like it was in the 60s or 70s. Anyway, there are way too many decent tires out there to gamble with their products.
  • Had them on my suburban and had them blow out on me... I replaced them all and would never consider buying them again... But with tires nowadays its a crapshoot....

  • I would never buy Firestone tires for any purpose based on age-old problems with the company. Incidentally, I think they are now Bridgestone.
I like my Michelins. As you know, tires are the cheapest insurance you can buy.
  • Have run my FS about 16K miles...no problems, much better ride that the GY670's that came from the factory. :) :)
