Septic safe is advertising hype.
There are many products on the market that are advertized as "Septic Safe" or "Safe for Septic Tanks" that will not damage the concrete tank but will kill the anaerobic bacterial culture that is necessary to the operation of the septic system.
Exactly how much of the suspect product does it take to kill all the bacteria and enzymes in a 5000 gallon plastic septic tank?
How long will it take for the tank to recover and regrow the bacteria?
Also, what kind of toilet tissue has that strong an antiseptic quality?
For REAL information about your septic tank and system, contact your local ag extension service or county sanitation department. THEY will give you true information, not urban myths. - restlesswindExplorerI just wish that I had "invented" RV (Really Valuable) toilet paper.
Half the amount on a roll.
Twice the price.(0r more)
Twice the amount needed. - bukhrnExplorer IIII still use Angel Soft 2 ply, I see no difference in the new or old, other than the wrapper.
- ArmySFCRetExplorerHey, you're camping. Leaves and pine straw!!

I did contact the ag extension office about 45 years ago and they sent me a booklet titled "The Care and Feeding of Your Septic System". - 1775Explorer

The only time I ever used that was in the "outhouse" days.
The "Monkey-Ward" catalog worked well, too.
