Our 96 Southwind has a W/D combo. It does not hold a lot but, it will wash a small load.

Not everyone likes them. It's a personal choice. You will probably hear the pros and cons of having a W/D in your RV.

Our next RV will have a combo or stackable unit. We find it convenient and useful, especially with our young grandsons.

There are those who swear by them & there are those who say "what's the point?"

We are in the second category. The huge area that would be occupied by a washer & dryer makes for a huge pantry area for us. Every week or so we hit a CG with a laundry, hopefully with enough machines, & do everything one time in a fraction of the time that the little RV ones would take.

You can do an awful lot of washes for the cost of the RV washer & dryer, never mind it is valuable dead space when not being used. You also need to be paying for the FHU site too if you want to use the little washer. All day washing or a couple hours. What is your time worth?

Determining load sizes

Maximum WASH CYCLE capacity -
Cottons: 15
lbs, Synthetics: 9 lbs, Delicates: 8 lbs, Wools: 3 lbs

Maximum DRY CYCLE capacity - 8 to 11 lbs.
Always allow space for air to flow around the
clothes when drying. In general, if your drying,
don’t fill the drum more than 1/2 to 3/4 full.

I would prefer the stacked ones. I have the combo and it takes a long time to dry the clothes. With stacked ones, you can wash another load while the first is drying. Very small loads.

Another plus on the stacked units, this way the 1st load can be drying and the 2nd load already in the washer, speeds up getting a couple of loads done quicker. Also with if you do decide to go all in one get a vented model, it'll dry much quicker.

We do everything except rugs in our combo. A 2100 is a little bit bigger than the previous models. They will wash more than you think, but drying is a problem. Most perm press come out and we let them air dry. It would have to be a really small MH before the DW would get rid of ours as we are on the second 2100.

This how we feel about it too. We do 2 weeks of laundry using laundromats, wash, dry, fold; in three hours or less. Then back to RV with zero thinking about the next load, dry, noise? Sorted laundry laying around... We full time and travel, so "get it done and forget for another two weeks" ------- the space where W/D would be is converted to slide out storage drawers.

We have the Splendide Combo. It's all we use except for rugs which we do at laundromats. Use the combo for sheets etc. There is room above the combo for hanging clothes which would be prohibited by the stackables.

We also have the combo. DW washes all our clothes, towels/wash cloths, king size sheets, etc. With the combo you can set to wash and dry. So she puts in a load and we go off and do what ever is on the day's agenda. Come back to a clean dry load. If she has more we just repeat the process. No waiting around for it to finish.
