RVer "gravity"

A while back we had a discussion (probably in Boondocking) on how annoying it is when you're boondocking in a large area and somebody decides to camp close to you. I've seen that first-hand lately.

The City of Pateros WA has curbside camping at their waterfront park. I'd say there's probably 1500' of available space. I was parked at the far end. Sure enough, a trailer pulls in behind me with maybe 20' of clearance. And there's not a single other camper in the place!

But this one today just blew me away. I'm parked at the curb, next to the restaurant. When I finish my meal and come out, I see this:

Now, this guy is double-parked in the truck lane access to a truck stop just out of view to the right. I saw him and wifey get out, they can both walk just fine. There's plenty o' parking along a fence behind the camera and also a very large truck lot. But no, this fella has to park right next to me!! Now I pull out and he's sitting out all alone in the truck driving area. Sheesh!!!
  • Some people will never fail to amaze us. They go boondocking to get away from it all, and then are apparently terrified of being alone.
I've seen similar situations, all you can do is smile and wonder. :)
  • Always helps to have striping - another form of posting the "rules".
