RVs and Condos

She Who Must Be Obeyed has decided that we will be moving from our current house in Texas to a currently undecided place in Florida. Once we decide where (what city) in Florida, the next task will be deciding what kind of home to look for. She is leaning/strongly suggesting we look at condos. I have a number of concerns/issues with condo living, but some of the issues/questions that I am looking for feedback on is:

For those of you who live in a condo, how do you prep your RV when it is time to get ready to go on a trip? Obviously, most likely, you can't leave it parked there permanently and store it off site when not needed. But when it comes time to load it, do you bring it to the condo, or haul everything to the storage location and load up there?

Do you end up leaving more things inside the RV so you don't have as much stuff to load/unload each trip?

Any other thoughts?

I realize I may be fighting an uphill battle, especially if she has already made up her mind, but I appreciate your thoughts/comments/suggestions.

  • For some reason, I read between the lines, that "she" is just not as excited about the RV as you are. If that's the case, then you might as well go ahead and hang your hat up and call it quits!

Too bad you can't just go ahead and full time in the RV in Florida! Rather than a condo, how about one of those uppitty-scale RV resorts? Who know? Maybe she just never considered it.

I do not have an answer to our question, every Home Owner's Association, City Zoning Regulations, and Condo Association have their own set of rules, depending upon how "uppitty" the one you finally select is, you might not even be able to park a pick-up truck there.
  • And therein lies the big problem people have with their RVs off site. I have never had, nor will I ever own an RV if I have to store it off site.
