I am not a lawyer but in most jurisditions you can go before a judge or referee and ask for a trial or you can offer a nolo contendere plea instead and the judge or referee will hear your explanation right away. They are not all heartless and will or should listen attentively to your explanation, you could beat it, ONCE.

In our county a rv can be occupied for no more than 2 days on public right of way before it has to be moved outside of a 2.5 mile radius. And an RV can't be parked on the public right of way for more than 4 days within a 28 day period.

However all the local hospitals have an area in their parking area dedicated to short time RV use for patients and family. Might check that out.

See stickers on trailers reasonably often.

Dig thru their rules. We have a law here that if someone is providing or receiving "health care" they can get a permit up to 3 months at a time to park on private property or on the public street, if no traffic hazard is created. Permits have to be visible from public right of way if parked on private property. Look up the code number and research what you are actually being cited for.

(I didn't like the law at first, but it also put a end (mostly) to the homeless RV situation.)

Our hospital allows RV's to park in a dedicated area as a courtesy for those who are receiving treatments. Maybe check on that.

Denton is certainly not an exception to the rule. Unfortunately they can’t make exceptions for what may seem to be a good cause. And ignorance of the law is not a viable excuse any where.

Yeah. I believe I would check first before parking on the side of a city street.

Here's the Denton law. You're not allowed to park an RV in a residential area:

Sec. 18-92.1. - Parking nuisances.
(a) It shall be unlawful for a person to park or store or allow another to park or store a recreational vehicle, travel trailer, boat or boat trailer, tow truck, truck, truck-tractor, pull trailer, semi-trailer or any vehicle other than a passenger car on any public right-of-way in any residential zoned district.
