Makes sense, when I was growing up in Eugene Oregon we had inversion days a lot during the winter. Wood stoves were the hot item then. Tons of trees in the great north west so it was cheap heat. Eugene sits in a valley and when the wind doesn't blow you get inversions. Not a global warming thing just environmental.
