Safe Campsite in New Orleans
I understand there is a fair amount of crime in New Orleans and would like your opinion of which campgrounds are safest. Any comments would be helpful.

We stayed at Ponchartrain Landing and, while I agree the gravel roads can get dusty, I didn't feel it was poorly maintained. Gravel does that. They have a shuttle running to and from FQ several times per day. We rode it once, then drove the truck in my sig the other times, mostly because the shuttle came back too early. Never felt unsafe either walking or driving. FQ rv resort is within walking distance, but most comments I've seen recommend against it, primarily later in the day. All that said, we'll probably stay at Bayou Segnette next time.
