- Empty_Nest__SooExplorerI stayed at Ponchartrain Landing one night while passing through a year ago. I have a daughter and son-in-law who live in New Orleans and I wanted to visit while passing through the area.
I had no problems and no complaints about the campground, except that my Tomtom had some problems finding it.
Wayne - derh20Explorerthank you all for your comments. we now have a couple options.

We stayed at Bayou Signette State Park located in Oswego. It is an urban state park but we felt perfectly safe. It was a 15 minute drive to the Algiers Ferry and a 5 minute ferry ride to the French Quarter. Parking fee at the ferry but the ferry was free, The state park has no sewer hook ups, just water and electric and is big rig friendly. The state park was redone after Katrina. The price is good too.
Our choice as well. Very nice CG. - Bob___AnnExplorerWe like Poncatrain Landing. It is safe and a nice campground. Just a short shuttle trip or drive to the French Quarter.
- loggenrockExplorerTake a look at Jude Travel Park. We were there a couple years ago - owners were great - left the rig there, shuttle into the city and back. Still only $30/night. Would use that park again! ST
- TrlrboyExplorerHere is another vote for Bayou Segnette SP. Take a look at this album of pictures I took there and it will give you a good view of what the campsites are like.
Bayou Signette pics - ghaindleExplorerBayou Signet is in Westwego, LA. Just in case you need to google it. Not Oswego.
