Safety
Hi All.. Maybe it is just me but I am getting concerned about our personal safety at camp grounds. Should a camper carry a weapon(gun)in the camper? Currently I do not. Jim2007

GOD didn't give you a gun. God gave you a Commandment - Thou Shalt NOT KILL.
Gun ownrs talk about needing a gun because of lawbreakers with guns YET these same gun owners are often times the ones breaking the laws.
If an establishment says NO GUNS (their right) why do you feel your right is above everyone elses?
But this thread was not about the right to have a gun. This thread was about SAFETY while camping.
I'm in a campground right now. The campground forbids firearms (their right). The only reason I feel unsafe at all is because I know that gun owners will bring their guns regardless.

I can't help notice that most of the negative comments are from people that live in NY,NJ,CA,IL. All States with strict gun control laws that only the law abiding good folks obey. The bad guys really don't care about the law in the first place.
I also have to comment that the Constitution does not grant us our rights, we are born with them and they are 'natural' rights bestowed by our creator. Notice how the founding fathers used the word "creator" instead of God. Your god may not be my God, my God may not be your God, but they believed we all had a "creator". These rights are inaleinable meaning that men (Gov't) can't take them away from you.....and yet they do....or at least keep trying.
It is unfortunate that people who own firearms can sometimes be careless with them and their children pay the price for that. I am sorry for that but they are YOUR children, not MINE and I am not responsible for their safety, YOU are. Taking MY firearms away will not keep YOUR children safe.......and yet we put up with fools behind the stearing wheel of a 2 ton death machine and thats acceptable.

I do think the CC info is available to any LEO calling in your plate number, to check you out. Your permit request would have gone through an FBI computer to check you out, so info would be available nation wide. Not from personal experience, but I've heard of others being stopped, and asked if carrying, which I think reason being, they know you are licensed to CC.

...why does one need a concealed weapons permit to carry a gun along in their RV? Can't you just carry an unloaded rifle or pistol someplace of sight in your RV with ammunition close by....
