Good morning. I am an RV salesperson. Same day selection are delivery and tough but can be done, usually with out of town people who are on vacation etc. In our case everything should be ready to go when it hits the sales lot so all that is left is one final fire and flush, meaning fire everything that fires and water up and run water through everything once more to insure something didn't occur while it sat on the lot.
Truck campers can be tough as that is a longer process, tie downs, etc. Same with fifth wheels if a hitch is involved.
Salesman do get days off and we use those for everything from doctors and dentist appointments to family events. Having said that, I quite often schedule more complex deliveries for my day off so I have no distractions during the delivery. Appointments are important though, service managers schedule techs according to everything from qualifications to manpower requirements. I sell upwards of 40 to 45 rigs per summer and during the busy season it is a bit of a dance making it all happen. Sometimes life happens and a substitute salesperson has to do.
I know the general consensus on this forum is to always consider the salesman to be a lowlife lying slime but try to remember that sales people are real people with real lives just trying to keep it together like the rest of the world.
Good luck with your RV purchase, Stay safe on the road.
