If you are attempting to both choose AND take delivery of an RV on the same day, then I think you are really rushing things and may find 'hidden' problems later.
When I selected my RV, it was from a dealer that was 900 miles one-way from my home. I made my selection, had a contract sent electronically, signed and returned. On the day I arrived, it was ready for inspection. I'm a tough nut on inspections. My boss called me 'The Pit Bull' when he would sic me on vendors who tried skimping on their contractual obligations.
I picked up the RV and spent the night in a co-located RV park to test out all the functions. There were a few items with sliders and the fridge lighting off on propane they had to address. Also the storage batteries were not able to hold a full capacity charge. (See? I said I was a pit bull. I load tested the batteries and even tested the breakers to trip at their rated loads.)
I left there feeling that I had a fully functioning RV and that any problems would be dealt with the manufacturer at this point.
Anyways, please choose an RV prior to arrival so the dealer can honestly have the time to set it up and not have to lie to you and say it's ready to go. And that you have enough time to really test everything. A day for each of you would barely be enough after you made the choice. Trying to cram selection, dealer prep and your inspection into one day is not reasonable, practical and I would say impossible if done right.
Get everything in writing before going. A contract works. If the seller you are speaking with can not be there on the day you arrive, then change dates so he can.
Dealer should never HAVE to LIE to you!!!!
