I have the Tailgator. I use a 211k receiver in the house so when we go we just take the 211k with us and no messing with calling dish or having a seperate RV account. Besides a hdmi for the main tv the 211k has a Sat out jack on the back so you can feed more TV's but they will all be watching the same thing but that works for me because I only watch one tv at a time. The 211z does not have a sat out.
I have not had any problems getting reception on the west coast as long as you have a clear view of the southern skys, sat phone app helps look for obstructions. I doubt if the X2 can receive a signal through trees.... And dish vs direct you will get HD with dish and SD with Direct... They are not that much different in price.
