wireless motion detector lights and audible an visual alarm near the bed works well to loet you know if anything is around.
In a situation like the OP it would have been good but....Dogs, cats any critter even flying moths may set them off. I've awakened many times to lights and seen moths, most frequent, cats, dogs, coyotes deer, turkeys. I hope It is all I will see. Some kind of discretionary recognition system would be good.
We had someone in a Missouri campground configured for RVs of the fifties, mess around the MH. they had, apparently, one, of the ubiquitous, keys common to most or all RVs. They didn't take anything, I could determine but they left bay doors ajar, and their foot prints in mud on the passenger side, of MH. Boonie docking would seem a better idea with two RVs and a dog or two on leashes outside. Some Farmer's forty, with his permission, would be a better bet maybe.
Note. The turkey, was first winter here, on the end porch rail adjacent, to our bedroom half wall window.
