I'm not trusting the perp to be a good/nice guy and not shoot me, if I give him my stuff and my wife.
Just ain't gonna happen.
The weapon will be out and bullets, in his heart and brain before he can squeeze the trigger.
Anyone, anyone points a weapon at you, you have to assume he means to use it.
If you didn't they wouldn't point it at you.
You don't carry a weapon as a badge to scare off perps.
You learn when and where to use it and train yourself to act then and only then.
A firearm does not mean you will be the victor by just carrying it but it gives you the ability to resist and survive and let the perp be the one in the pine box. Train and practice when and where.
