We have camped alot at DORIS CAMP in the Wichita Mtns Wildlife Refuge near medicine park, OKLA which is full of many wonderful animals roaming free all over the Refuge. Every thing from Cougars to Buffalo, Raccoons, and Deer.
You never know what to expect what wanders around at night.
We head alot of ruckus one night in our camp site but didn't dare go look. The next morning lots of Buffalo POOP around the camp site. Think they settled there for the night haha....
That same trip we saw what we thought was a BOB CAT on a walkway crossing one end of the Lake where we was at. Then got to looking at it closer and it turns out to have a very long tail. Sure enough was a mountain lion cougar... He was on our side of the Lake too haha... This was a TENT CAMPING trip there...
I did find these Wichita Mountains photo on google of Buffalo and Deer around the camp sites. You certainly have to watch where you step when watering the trees at night
