Took a bullet thru our trailer sidewall and 4 inner wall panels a few years back. We were in a beautiful SP in MS. Just laying down the outdoor carpet...pop pop whizz whack... just above my head.
Went and found a park employee who was supervising 5 prisoners clearing brush. He called the office .
A few minute later 4 rangers arrive lights flashing.. The wife finds a copper jacketed bullet in a cupboard. They call the local county police who on there way into the park find the culprits shooting beer bottles off a stump in their back yard. This was no richochet as there is a lot of bush behind their property and a big lake as well.
In that bay that day were a lot of campers and kids playing. A fellow in another site stated they had been popping off shots all morning. The deputy indicated the shot that was fired over the trees was and accidental round while they were reloading a clip. Their target range faced away from the park area.. They offered to pay all damages.
I got a police report for insurance purposes and fixed the holes myself. That round made a very neat round hole thru the 2.5" laminated side wall and 4 inner panel walls, bounced off a solid oak door frame and fell onto a towel. Not even a dent in the bullet.
I later traded that unit in and told the dealer the story. He couldn't find the holes even after I showed him where they were.
Beautiful SP..but haven't been back.
