I carry a 225 pound 150 cc Vespa. It will carry both of us up to 63 Mph.
It is great for festivals and other events as it is easy to find parking. I think you need one that will keep up with the flow on secondary roads so you need 50 MPH for safety's sake. We have taken 20 mile runs on it but usually a few miles to an event or grocery store
Lots of fun.
The 125cc & 150cc scooter is a staple for transport here in Bermuda. It is a great size. Large enough & powerful enough for 2. Light enough for ladys to easily handle. Not too heavy for many trailers.
The problem is, not many models in this cc range are sold in the US. There are plenty of 50cc to choose from but they are too small for 2. Then there is a huge jump to the 250cc scooters which are getting too heavy for most trailers by the time the carrier is added in.
I am surprised the scooter, big wheel type, is not more popular. Around town it is a great errand runner for picking up small things. A motorcycle cannot carry anything more than an idea. No storage. For the RVer a scooter is great for local sightseeing. Park anywhere. Carry camera gear or a days worth of hiking supplies. Even a slow QUIET ride around a CG.
